News from 2001:
Megan and Ryan Phelps were married at Bald Head Island in May.
Michael graduated from ECU in Dec. 2000 with a degree in Hospitality Management;
Michael and Christine Cook announced their engagement;
Mary and Rodney were inducted into the East Carolina University Educator's Hall of Fame;
Mark invests much energy into his challenging job as General Manager of Home Director, Inc.;
Holly manages an active household, volunteers at school and church, and just went back to work part-time for a home builder friend;
Mary continues her success as Associate Dean for Research, Graduate Studies, and Professional Development in the School of Education at ECU;
Rodney put retirement plans on hold after Sept. 11th and continues as Assistant Dean for Graduate Studies and Technology in the School of Music at ECU;
Megan enjoys her job as Marketing Specialist at Global Knowledge in Cary, NC;
Ryan continues teaching at Davis Drive Middle School and coaching tennis Apex High School. He was named "Coach of the Year" by the conference;
Michael and Christine are devoted to Christine's booming business in Greenville, NC, Crystal Connection;
Rodney continues developing New Fine Arts; artist management with Andy Toth, including exhibiting at presenters' conferences, many phone calls and mailings;
The Schmidt's and Don and Doris Huffman (Holly's parents) enjoyed the Nelson Family Reunion ) in Bristow, NE this past August;
Mark, Holly, Grayson, Thomas, Don and Doris Huffman, traveled on from the Nebraska reunion to explore dinosaur remains and Mt. Rushmore in South Dakota. Grayson and Thomas actually participated in a dinosaur dig!
Mary's mom Ivy maintains an active lifestyle following the passing of her husband Lee, father to the Weidum girls;
Grayson Schmidt loves soccer, her many friends, making crafts, swimming, scouting, and is a wonderful conversationalist!
Thomas Schmidt is the all time LEGO whiz kid, loves Star Wars, chocolate, tree climbing, and is a bona fide junior paleontologist.
